Church and Facility Concerts

Due to the heavy commitment of Mark's writing and recording apostolate, he is taking fairly limited bookings at this time. Nonetheless, all invitations are prayerfully considered and responded to.

We make it as easy as possible to bring Mark's music and speaking ministry to your parish. We provide custom digital promotional material for you so you don't have to make anything up. Your job is to simply make it available and generate plenty of enthusiasm in the parish to help make the event a success.

PLEASE NOTE: Mark and Lea no longer travel as a family in a tour bus. If a ground tour is planned, it would be limited to Western Canada and there would need to be enough bookings to merit the costs of the trip.

Mark relies primarily on God's Providence to support his full-time ministry and family through donations and stipends.

Canadian bookings: If possible, we ask that the amount of a $500 stipend for direct travel expenses be covered by the parish if he is travelling to you by ground. If flying to you, all his airfare expenses will need to be covered (this can be shared by parishes if multiple parishes are involved in one tour). Additionally, we also ask that the parish take up a free will offering the evening of the event to help cover the financial needs for Mark's family and ministry.

U.S. bookings: please connect with us to discuss the details of what is required of you to help ensure Mark's smooth passage across the border.

We simply need one key person to send the promo material to who will spear-head promotions (don't worry--the promotional tools we provide make their job easy, even if they've never done this before!) & delegate others who will help generate much enthusiasm in the parish & community & help handle his CD table on the night of the concert.

We have found that the most successful turnouts are the concerts where the priest enthusiastically endorses the event. Also, when there is an enthusiastic team of people (CWL, prayer group, youth group or K of C, for example) getting the word out, and when a song is played from Mark's Worship album ("Let the Lord Know") for a Communion meditation in the weeks prior. Word of mouth and personal invitation are extremely effective ways to generate enthusiasm for the concert.

THE CONCERT... Mark's concerts are just under two hours in length, offering powerful, soul-soothing music and faith-building insights for all ages. Musically, he performs all his own original material, which includes a good balance of easy-listening and upbeat music.

The nature of Mark's presentation is one of bringing our faith into relatable and contemporary terms through music and sharing his own experiences in light of the teachings of the Catholic Faith. Mark recognizes that music is an excellent way to reach the hearts and minds of people in a profound way. His captivating presentation together with engaging & clean humour meets people of all ages right where they're at. Many people have likened Mark's concerts to a "mini-mission", as his passion for Christ is contagious as he shares both his journey and practical spiritual principles with thought-provoking insights in between songs.

Because of the evangelistic nature of the event, Mark holds the concert in the church sanctuary, paying particular attention to the Eucharistic Presence in a spirit of deep reverence.

TECHNICAL MISC... WHEN TRAVELLING BY GROUND: Mark comes fully equipped with all his own high calibre professional sound equipment, and simply needs adequate power outlets and access to the breaker box. It takes at least two hours for Mark to set up and do a thorough sound check, so it is IMPERATIVE that the church is free of activities in the hours prior to concert start time.

Please note: Mark is not typically able to fly to parishes to do concerts beyond Western Canada, as he has very specific sound and lighting requirements that are most easily met with his own high calibre system that he takes with him on road trips. However, he would be happy to offer an ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS event, which is less "entertainment-oriented", and more ministry-oriented. The parish sound system will likely suffice in this regard. However, if the parish is willing to rent a professional sound system according to Marks specs, he may consider doing a concert if the necessary equipment is acquired at the cost of the hosting parish or venue.

Church halls, basements, and gymnasiums should NOT be used unless absolutely necessary, as they greatly affect the sound quality and prayerful environment of the concert. On days where there is an evening mass just prior to the event, the priest needs to be aware that equipment will be present in the altar area due to the length of the setup. The equipment does not impede Father's ability to say mass, he just needs to be made aware beforehand that this is what to expect.
