This painting is beautiful and shows Mary's humility. I love the fact that it is a magnet so I look at her every time I open my refrigerator.

This painting could represent any woman suffering. It's a beautiful Our lady of the Cross. The print itself came out a little darker than indicated online, thus the 4 stars. Overall, it's beautiful.

I love this stunning painting of Mary and I am grateful to the artist (Lea Mallett) for it. I believe that, like an icon, it is both inspired and inspiring. "Mother of the Cross" stirs deep feelings within me. (Sometimes I will stand in front of it and just meditate.) I cannot look at it without seeing her great capacity for love, a love that was necessarily equaled by her great suffering. I cannot but be faced with and appreciate this deep truth of our faith- that Mary's submission to God's holy will, in spite of the suffering that would ensue, has given us our greatest gift, our Savior. Then, our Lord gave her to us as our mother. A gift too often unappreciated. Mary had to accept her Son's suffering, and her own, for us. It is no wonder that Saint John Paul II referred to her role saying that "Mary...co-operated during the event itself and in the role of mother; thus her co-operation embraces the whole of Christ’s saving work. She alone was associated in this way with the redemptive sacrifice that merited the salvation of all mankind. In union with Christ and in submission to him, she collaborated in obtaining the grace of salvation for all humanity...In God’s plan, Mary is the ‘woman’ (cf. John 2:4; John 19:26), the New Eve, united to the New Adam in restoring humanity to its original dignity. Her cooperation with her Son continues for all time in the universal motherhood which she enjoys in the order of grace. Trusting in this maternal cooperation, let us turn to Mary, imploring her help in all our needs." I am daily reminded of this when I see "Mother of the Cross." I am continually reminded of what a loving mother she has been to our family. Through her intercession, she has wrought so much for our family.
